Reflecting Sun by Luda Nayvelt

November 12, 2011 § 1 Comment

Seclusion … Illusion … Whispering glen

Skyline … Sub-lime … Audible wren

Golden pinks … Darkish shades … A  moment in time

Sun setting … Glow letting … All is just fine

Bob Bennett – “Private Retreat”

October 20, 2010 § Leave a comment

Remnants of a bygone day
Pieces of a distance past
Splinters reach horizon high
Shadows speak as they are cast

Architects long left behind …
But cobbled stones connect the view
Seems like such a hallowed place
Enwrapped in silence—me and you!

Art By: Bob Bennett is a gifted California photographer who does incredible photographic montages of the CA landscape.

Chris Palmer – “Reflections”

September 17, 2010 § Leave a comment

The wide expanse is like a pond of icy glass
I can see the sky’s reflection in the stone
And the trickling ribbons of light are like fingers of newness

As I tilt my head to look sideways, I see symmetry
Lines reflecting lines and clouds that are bookends
With rainbows hiding behind the concrete history

The quiet of the early dawn soothes the soul
And the lone worker seems like poetry in motion
As his left-to-right routine removes the traces of yesterday’s crowds

A person’s work can seem mundane to themselves
But from this perspective it is an act of beauty
His frame upon this street of solitude has become a work of art

“From the Brink”

August 27, 2010 § Leave a comment

From the funnel
From the tunnel
From cascading fright

From the ashes
From the caskets
From the dead of night

Came the whirlwind
Came the image
Came the eyes of hope

From the edge, and
From the brink
I stand. I live. I cope.

“Worn Weary”

August 26, 2010 § Leave a comment

The shingles have fallen
The gates are unhinged
The lines that spoke “glory” are now without trim

The weeds are like jungle
So tangled and tall
What once had great beauty ranks more like a stall

The raindrops have splattered
Through the roof holes agape
The tenants took leave and made their escape

Yes, what once was a home, resplendent and fine
Is now just “worn weary” from the passage of time

“Street of Solitude”

August 25, 2010 § Leave a comment

Street of Solitude

Pristine silence on a bed of light snow
Long vacant street with the lighting so low

A trail of many footprints, but no one to be seen
It’s just a bit of solitude—an “after midnight” dream

“Silent Greetings”

August 25, 2010 § Leave a comment

Silent Greetings

Whispering willows and layers of light
Cascading shadows trumping the night
I can hear some silent greetings tapping on my soul this morn
Yes, I can hear a silent tapping in my soul this early morn

Meandering mellow and ridges of gold
Ripples of splendor so glorious bold
I can speak some silent greetings in response this sacred morn
Yes, I can speak a word of greeting in response this early morn

Heavenly layers enfolding their ways
Funneling freedom in open displays
I can hear those ringing messages without a word bespoke
Yes, I can hear those crystal messages without a word bespoke
