“Worn Weary”
August 26, 2010 § Leave a comment
The shingles have fallen
The gates are unhinged
The lines that spoke “glory” are now without trim
The weeds are like jungle
So tangled and tall
What once had great beauty ranks more like a stall
The raindrops have splattered
Through the roof holes agape
The tenants took leave and made their escape
Yes, what once was a home, resplendent and fine
Is now just “worn weary” from the passage of time
